Welcome, Visitors--oil, 8x10"

This is the second of what will be a series of Alamo paintings. Each one will be painted a different way. I got the idea from a landscape painter who did a series of paintings of the same landscape at different times of day and year. She probably got the idea from Monet's cathedral paintings.

I was born in San Antonio, a couple of blocks from the Alamo, in the Nix Hospital, which is just above the River Walk. Some of my earliest childhood memories are of the Alamo. It is something all Texans can relate to, and is recognizable to non-Texans.

I want to see how many different ways I can paint it, even if I depart from my usual style. My goal is to do 25 of them.
